Design and Fabrication of a Single Phase Binary Weighted Electronics Load Controller (ELC)
ABSTRACT
Electronics Load Controller (ELC) help to maintain the power balance between produced electricity and consumed electricity by dumping the excess electricity into the dump load. Thegenerated voltage isstepped down using stepdown transformer. Stepdown AC voltage is passedthrough half wave rectifier circuit to produce DC voltage. DC voltage is passed to 5V voltage regulator and then it is passed to the Arduino through a filter. Current sensor measures the current and sends the signal to the Arduino. Zero Crossing Detection (ZCD) help to detect the frequency of produced electricity. All these signals are transferred to Arduino to compare the mis-match Power. A condition is checked if the power is greater than the consumed, then the dump load is on by sending signal to the relay from Arduino. After completion of the project ELC help to maintain power balance between consumer and dump load.
